TTx Talk is a video podcast, with your host, Nate Petry – TTx VP of Sales. Nate has conversational interviews with experts in their respective fields. On today’s episode, Nate is joined by Chad Voller – CTG Managing Director. Through our strategic partnership we have learned how well we work together, with our IT infrastructure and CTG’s focus on keeping it secure. Nate and Chad discuss the changes in the “New Normal” as well as what a free dark web report can do for you and your business.
Since COVID-19 struck, everything in our day to day lives has changed. And that includes how businesses operate, clearing out the main office and moving to a home office has become the “New Normal.” But there are things that have not changed, such as the percentage of successful cyber attacks.
Free Dark Web Report
A dark web report is when CTG uses a tool to scour the web to search for any company credentials that may have been leaked. With the dark web report, CTG will also sit down with you and help you understand the information they found and what to do with it.

TTx Talk Episode 5 Transcript
Nate: Welcome to the TTx talk. I’m Nate Petry VP sales here at TTx. And I have Chad Voller, managing director at CTG.
Chad: Thanks for having me on.
Nate: Thanks for being with us. As some of you have probably seen, we’ve had a strategic partner with CTG for a couple of years now, and, uh, we gel really well together with our managed services offering and taking care of IT infrastructure, and then your, focus and dedication to security in that space. So we love the partnership and thanks for joining us again today.
Chad: We love it too. It’s just been a hand in glove kind of fit for us and, yeah. Thank you. Thanks again for having me here.
Nate: Yeah. Earlier in the year we were doing some stuff on the new norm, right. With COVID and this crazy year, we did a big production there, so, you know, certainly tune back into those things. But I was curious today about how are things from your vantage point as things have become normal, right? The new normal is here
Chad: Right? Year the new normal, it’s such an intriguing time. It continues to be an intriguing time in our lives, especially when it comes to the technology that we use, how we leverage that for our clients, and for us, how to secure it and how to make people feel safe about them. It’s fascinating, especially in thinking about like this, this is one of the things that we talked about earlier in the year as well, but we continue to, I was going to say struggle, but kind of just wrestle with this idea that our, our home network at the office has now just become all of these other networks. And just that, that idea is, not just only intriguing, but challenging for remote staff, you know, think you have, you think of, of the staff that you have in IT, it’s your small orbs, or even at a managed service provider like TTx is doing great work for clients. You’re stretched in a different way now. So just continuing to try and adapt to that newness. And as things change and new challenges arise, you know, we had our time in the beginning, it was fast and furious. And now that that time has elapsed for a while, we haven’t had a chance to see even more, um, angles exposed to the different things that we have to serve to our clients. So, I would say it’s been interesting and challenging, but all in very good ways.
Nate: Yeah. Still a lot of opportunity to improve, as this new normal working from home matures and progresses.
Chad: Yeah. You know, when you say that a lot of opportunity to improve, I think there are things that also haven’t changed. There’s all these things that changed because of COVID, but then there’s these things that have stayed the same, like the percentage of successful attacks that come through fishing and just the need for people to just be careful with what they click on, that hasn’t changed. That’s still the same.
Nate: Those percentages are still the same?
Chad: They’re still the same. And the volume and velocity of those attacks has increased. So it’s, even though things are different now, things are in a way, very much still the same.
Nate: Yeah. Yeah. And we need that, right. IT groups need that TTx needs that expertise that you bring to the table, you know, to help us make sure that we’re secure. And so that’s one of the ways that we can obviously engage with you and our clients can engage with you. Another one that we’ve been doing a lot of lately too, is a dark web report. Right. So if you want to talk about that engagement a little bit?
Chad: Yeah. Yeah. So one of the things that we do, we’ve been working with TTx clients, is bringing them in for a free, just a full, complimentary dark web report. What that does is it uses our tool to scour the web, to see if they have credentials that have been put up for sale on the dark web. So think of the dark web is like, you know, the bad part of town on the internet, if you will, that’s where the bad guys hanging out. And they sell shady stuff. And some of that shady stuff is company credentials that get caught up in a data breach. So it’s kind of a big deal, but knowing how to use it is where we come in, so anybody can give you a dark web report, but we’ll sit with you and help you understand it and digest it, and then help you know what to do with it.
Nate: Yeah. The free report is what it is, but the consultation afterwards is the real value. And that’s what we want to do. We, you know, we want to be the most trusted partner in our space and we don’t go into the security realm. Right? So you are most trusted partner from an it security, thank you for extending that offer to our clients as a good way to first engage with us. So thank you for that.
Chad: You bet.
Nate: Love to talk to you more about our partnership with CTG.
Chad: Thank you.
